Lapland’s winter nights are shaped by deep darkness, open skies and the quiet anticipation of the aurora. At Arcora, the night can be explored on foot, by husky sled, reindeer sleigh, snowmobile or private minivan.
Each experience is guided with care and adapted to the conditions of the evening. Routes lead away from artificial light into forests, frozen lakes and open fell landscapes, with time for warm drinks, firelight and unhurried moments beneath the northern sky.
The northern lights are a natural phenomenon and can never be guaranteed. The stillness, atmosphere and connection to the Arctic landscape remain at the heart of every experience.
Arcora Signature Northern Lights Experience
The Arcora Signature Experience is built around one unhurried moment beneath the northern sky.
Guided to a carefully chosen location defined by openness, stillness and privacy, guests experience the Arctic landscape at its quietest. The journey unfolds gently, whether by foot or sled depending on the conditions. A fire is prepared before arrival, with wool blankets, warm wilderness drinks and thoughtful bites served as the night settles around you.
Your host brings together ancient stories, changing conditions and modern knowledge of the aurora, allowing space for silence, presence and connection to the surrounding landscape.
If the lights appear, they are experienced in stillness. The moment remains.

Aurora Snowshoe Experience
An evening journey through the Arctic landscape beneath the northern sky, experienced at a slower pace and away from surrounding light.
The experience begins at Arcora, where guests meet their guide before stepping directly into the winter landscape on snowshoes. Moving through snow-covered forests and open terrain, the journey follows quiet routes shaped naturally by the surrounding landscape.
Midway through the experience, the group pauses at a fire site prepared within the winter landscape. Warm drinks are served by the fire while the guide shares stories of Lapland, Arctic nature and the northern lights. The journey then continues quietly back towards Arcora beneath the open northern sky.
Some northern nights are best experienced one step at a time.

Aurora Husky Experience
An evening journey through the Arctic landscape beneath the northern night sky.
As daylight fades into Lapland’s blue hour, guests travel by husky sled through quiet forest trails, frozen lakes and open winter scenery far from artificial light. The darkness, the rhythm of the dogs and the silence of the landscape shape the experience naturally.
Midway through the route, the journey pauses at a traditional kota shelter. A fire is prepared and warm refreshments are served while waiting beneath the northern sky. The northern lights are never promised, only hoped for, allowing the journey itself to remain at the heart of the experience.

Aurora Reindeer Experience
A quiet evening journey through the Arctic landscape, guided by the slow rhythm of reindeer and the stillness of the North.
Welcomed by a local reindeer herder, guests travel through the snowy surroundings in a traditional reindeer-drawn sleigh. Wrapped in warm blankets, the journey unfolds gently beneath the northern sky, accompanied by the soft sound of the sleigh and the steady pace of the reindeer.
As the route opens towards wider skies away from artificial light, there may be a chance to witness stars and the northern lights above. Even on quieter evenings, the experience remains deeply connected to the landscape, local traditions and the timeless rhythm of Lapland.

Aurora Adventure by Snowmobile
An evening snowmobile journey through Lapland’s winter landscape beneath the open northern sky.
Departing directly from Arcora after dark, the route leads across frozen lakes and quiet fell terrain, away from surrounding lights and activity. The stillness, wide-open landscape and anticipation of what may appear overhead shape the experience.
Along the route, the journey pauses naturally for warm drinks, stories and unhurried moments beneath the stars. If the northern lights appear, there is time to stop and experience them fully.
Designed for guests seeking a more remote and atmospheric way to explore the Arctic landscape after dark.

Private Aurora Hunt by Minivan
A private Northern Lights journey shaped around movement, timing and the changing conditions of the Arctic sky.
The evening begins at Arcora, where guests meet their guide and hear the plan for the night before departing by private minivan. Weather forecasts, cloud coverage and aurora activity are carefully studied to identify the most promising viewing areas.
Rather than following a fixed route, the journey adapts continuously to the conditions. It may lead through forests, across open fells and frozen lakes or along quiet northern roads, always with the freedom to follow clearer skies.
Warm drinks and a generous selection of sweet and savoury snacks are served during the evening. Even when the aurora remains hidden, the journey offers a deeper connection to Lapland’s winter darkness and nocturnal landscape.

Arcora lies next to the pristine wilderness of Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park, surrounded by forests, fells, and silence.
The closest airport is Kittilä (65 km, about 50 minutes by car) with regular domestic and international connections. Another option is Enontekiö Arctic Airport in Hetta (85 km, about 60 minutes by car), located north of Arcora. From either direction, your journey leads straight into the heart of Lapland’s nature.
With a private helipad on site, Arcora can be reached directly, allowing the journey to continue in your own time and at your own pace.
