Rooted in Lapland. Shaped with care for what surrounds us.
Rooted in the North
For us, sustainability begins with where we are.
Arcora is rooted in Muonio, Finnish Lapland – a place shaped by clean air, vast wilderness, changing seasons and generations of people who have learned to live alongside nature rather than apart from it.
As part of the third-generation family company Harriniva Hotels & Safaris, our approach grows from more than 50 years of local knowledge and experience. It means making thoughtful choices, respecting the surrounding Arctic nature, supporting the people and traditions of our region, and taking responsibility for the animals that are part of the Lapland experience.
Luxury in the North should not come at the expense of what makes this place extraordinary. Our ambition is to create meaningful stays that leave a lasting impression on our guests – while treating our home with the care it deserves.
From here, with respect
At Arcora, the surrounding nature is not simply a backdrop. It is the reason we are here.
Our choices are guided by respect for the forests, fells, lakes and changing seasons of Finnish Lapland. We aim to use resources thoughtfully, reduce unnecessary waste and build experiences that allow guests to discover the Arctic without losing sight of how delicate this environment can be.
Locality matters just as much. Whenever possible, we look close to home – to northern ingredients, local producers, regional craftsmanship, trusted partners and the knowledge of people who have lived and worked here for generations.
For our guests, this creates something more meaningful than a sense of place. It creates a genuine connection to Lapland – through its nature, its flavours, its people and its stories.
Care beyond the experience
Animals are an important part of life in Lapland – and their wellbeing always comes before the experience.
Through Harriniva Hotels & Safaris, we draw on more than 30 years of experience in caring for huskies and creating responsible animal experiences in the Arctic. Our professional teams care for the animals throughout the year, with their health, individual needs, living conditions and natural behaviour at the heart of everyday work.
The same respect guides our encounters with reindeer. At the historic Torassieppi Reindeer Farm, guests are introduced not only to these remarkable Arctic animals, but also to the traditions, knowledge and way of life that surround reindeer husbandry in Lapland.
For us, a meaningful animal experience is never simply about getting closer. It is about understanding, respecting and caring for the animals that make these encounters possible.
Flavours with a sense of place
Food is one of the most tangible ways to experience Lapland.
At Arcora, our culinary philosophy is shaped by the North – its seasons, ingredients and traditions. We look to local and regional producers whenever possible, allowing the changing landscape to guide what finds its way onto the plate.
Thoughtful sourcing also means respecting what we use. Our aim is to work carefully with ingredients, minimise unnecessary waste and create menus where quality is measured not by excess, but by flavour, craftsmanship and a genuine connection to the place around us.
From wild northern flavours to carefully selected ingredients from trusted producers, dining at Arcora is designed to tell a story of Lapland – refined, contemporary and deeply rooted in its surroundings.
Thoughtful by design
Responsibility is also reflected in the way Arcora is designed, built and operated.
In an Arctic environment, every choice matters. From energy and water use to materials, maintenance and everyday operations, our aim is to make considered decisions that support both guest comfort and the long-term wellbeing of the surrounding environment.
We favour durable solutions, thoughtful use of resources and practices that help reduce unnecessary consumption and waste. Just as importantly, we believe that good design should stand the test of time – both aesthetically and functionally.
For us, responsible luxury is not about having less. It is about choosing better, using resources with care and creating spaces that feel exceptional without losing sight of where we are.
Part of the community
Sustainability is also about people – those who live here, work here and carry the knowledge of Lapland forward.
Arcora grows from the long local roots of Harriniva Hotels & Safaris and from decades of experience in Muonio. We value the skills, stories and understanding that come from living close to the Arctic environment, and we want that local knowledge to remain visible in the experiences we create.
Where possible, we work with local and regional partners, producers and professionals, helping keep value and expertise within the North. We also believe in long-term relationships – with our team, our partners and the communities around us.
For Arcora, being part of Lapland comes with a responsibility to contribute to its future. Not only by welcoming guests here, but by supporting the people, knowledge and traditions that make this place what it is.
Experience with respect
The Arctic invites you to explore – but always on its terms.
At Arcora, we believe the most memorable experiences are those that bring guests closer to Lapland without taking away from what makes it special. Our approach is guided by respect for wildlife, fragile Arctic nature, local traditions and the people who call this region home.
Whether moving through snow-covered forests, searching for the Northern Lights or discovering the landscapes around Pallas–Yllästunturi National Park, we encourage thoughtful ways of experiencing the North. Local knowledge and responsible guidance help us minimise disturbance and ensure that these places can be enjoyed long into the future.
True luxury is having the time and space to experience something extraordinary – and leaving it just as extraordinary for those who come after us.
A responsibility we share
Lapland gives us something rare – space, silence, clean nature and experiences that stay with us long after we leave.
Our responsibility is to protect what makes this place exceptional and to keep learning how we can do better. For Arcora, sustainability is not a separate promise or a finished project. It is part of the choices we make, the partnerships we build and the way we welcome guests to our home in the North.
We invite you to experience Finnish Lapland with curiosity, respect and time to truly appreciate it.
